The first book ended at 53% and as a bonus, you receive Good Girl by Willow Winters. As always, the story is well written, few to no errors. The plot is great and you'll quickly fall for the characters.Zander a dominant, but he doesn't want a master/slave relationship. Danny is a member of Club X, and owes Zander money from a loan. Danny has a gambling problem, and can't pay his debts. He offeres Ari in exchange for wiping the debt, but Zander refuses.
Danny saved Ari from suicide many years ago, and she feels she owes him her life. He used pain to help Ari cope, but it no longer works. There's no longer pleasure with the pain. When Ari finally tells Danny, he becomes angry and blames her. She finally realizes he didn't save her out of the kindness of his heart and hasn't been her friend because he cared for her. Danny puts her up for auction to gather the money he owes Zander, but to punish Ari, as well. However, Zander has other plans for the beautiful Ari.
Together Zander and Ari learn to trust each other. The two haven't been able to depend on many people, Z because of his parents' failed marriage and Ari because of Danny's recent betrayal. The story differs from the others in that the element of sex doesn't occur as often as in the previous books. The story is focused on Zander courting Ari, helping her heal, and protecting her from Danny's wrath.
My favorite part of the book was Ari risking her freedom to save Zander, and him not allowing her to. They showed a deep need to protect EACH OTHER, something not seen in the first two books. Those women weren't ever in a situation where they had to save the men. Owned and Given allow us to see women be the protector for a change.
I hope to see Madam Lynn's and Charles' stories in the future.

He's a corrupt and wealthy liar in complete control. He know's everything about everyone of importance, and they all owe him money and favors. Zander Payne is a charming testosterone menace; arrogant and powerful. He owns a room when he enters and people sit up and take notice. He's always composed with a secretive smile that gives nothing away. And then Arianna Owens enters his life..
Arianna (Ari) Owens is constantly fighting off depression. Except for her BFF and roommate, she has no one....well except for Danny Brooks, who is her abusive Master. Ari wants out of their agreement, even though she still feels indebted to him. She feels ungrateful because he saved her life and she owes him. I loved Arianna. There's an innocent and sad quality about her. She's insecure with very little confidence. She feels inadequate and unworthy and is constantly anxious.
I loved this romantic/suspenseful story. It has its brutally explicit moments, but not as depraved or degrading as the first two books Bought (Highest Bidder Book 1) and Sold (Highest Bidder Book 2). I loved how slowly Zander begins to thaw and open up....like a rose slowly unfolding. He begins to desire and yearn to make Ari smile, or to do something to make her light up. He slowly becomes addicted to the changes he see's in her that he's causing to happen and wants more. He loves how she's grateful for the smallest kindness or compliment and doesn't even take those actions for granted. He wants to lay the world at her feet and all because she's appreciative of the smallest gesture of kindness. Nothing about her goes unnoticed by Zander. Against his will, he begins to feel something for her.
The downside Except for her deep green eyes and small stature, descriptive details were sketchy for Arianna's character. I only knew she had long(ish) hair when someone grabbed it or twisted their hand around it. But what color is her hair? Dark, yes...but color please? What does she look like? How old is she and Zander?!? Not much was ever divulged with her. Zander's details trickled in periodically throughout the book. I prefer several paragraphs devoted to just character descriptions and then reinforced throughout the story, reminding me of what they look like.. (when you read upwards of 3-4 books a week, you need reminding). It gives me a solid mental visual and I easily connect. Rooms, Gala's, furniture, even carpets, etc. were described to the point of tedious...(but welcomed). But our two protagonists? Not too much forthcoming. The story ended at about 53% on my kindle (?!?). Adult language isn't as strong in this third Highest Bidder story. Sex scenes are steamy and explicit, but they're few. If you enjoy soft-erotic romance with a side of suspense, you'll enjoy this story.
First off this is a MUST read!!! Arianna is such a beautiful name for someone to have gone through hell and survived. Ari is "owned" by Danny for saving her life only to make her live in hell. Danny owes Zander a large sum of money and offers Ari to him as payment but when Zander refuses Danny puts Ari up for auction to get the money owed. Zander attends the auction and there is something about her sad eyes that draws him to her. After Zander wins the and actually meets Ari there is a connection and chemistry between them that calms him like no other. What starts out as a fake relationship turns to so much more that Zander doesn't want to let her go. Ari feels the connection but is afraid to believe it's real but when Danny loses control an unthinkable happens. How far will a person go to protect the one they love?? This story will grab you by the heart in the first page of the prologue and won't let go the end. I loved Zander and Ari so much that I purchased book after reading the ARC. Now I have to read other books of this series because the writing of this one was so good. This book can be read as a standalone with his/her POV, no cliffhanger and a HEA!!! I highly recommend this book to everyone so one click now.
